Red “Lifebuoy” Carbolic Soap was one of the most famous and largest selling Carbolic soaps in the world.
Originally it was available only in a 'Household size', and then in 1933 a ‘toilet’ version was introduced. The 85g Red Carbolic toilet version lasted until around 2007 then was reformulated as a non-Carbolic soap.
This was due to new regulations introduced by the EU which applied to: Toilet Soaps, Shower Gels, Body Washes and Shampoos etc. The new regulations do not apply to the Household versions of Carbolic Soap.
This is why we have introduced the 'Redbuoy Carbolic Household Soap' which is suitable for hand washing and all those jobs around the house. These days, this is essential with MRSA and all the superbugs, e-coli, salmonella, and other viruses around. You cannot have too much protection.
